richie!!!!



So you know how I lost tickets on ticketmaster to the Richie/Coldplay concert? Apparently they were not lost. Althought it didn't show up on the website, I did get the tickets! Richie and I, together at last!

blizzard at the fortress



I had to go downtown (yay) for work today and I made the commute from the Fortress. When I got down there, there was little snow! Just a layer of ice. Up at the Fortress it was like the middle of winter. This dude sat next to me on the subway and he had me plastered against the wall. The subway was packed or else I would have moved and I still had a long way to go so I didn't want to stand. I looked over at him to see if he were larger, but he wasn't. So I began to wonder why he was sitting so close to me. I shifted my bum to see if I wasn't taking up my whole seat. But I was. I kind of leaned into him when we stopped at the next stop to see if he would move. But he didn't. And then I see his hand start to inch around, it looks as if he's crossing his arms. But me, being proctective of my ipod, think he's trying to steal my ipod. I give him a dirty look and his hand inches back to where it had come from. Finally he gots off at Dundas where strangely enough a big fat lady sits next to me and none of her body is pressing against mine like that dude's did.

On my walk from the subway to my building a see this cyclist slip off his bike in the middle of the road. He's thrown over the handle bars and is writhing in pain. I like everyone else around me was staring, I started to head over to help him but I wondered how I would do it, since I was carring my purse in one had and the Vogue I was reading on the subway in the other hand. Then he started to get up and I kept walking cos I couldn't really think of a place to put my Vogue while I helped him get up other than on the ground, and I didn't want to do that.

So I commute back up to the fortress and get off the subway thinking it'll be like downtown...just a thin layer of ice. But I'm wrong! It's like half a foot of snow on top of a thin layer of ice. It really does feel like I really am at the Fortress of Solitude! I need gloves though, my fingers are goign to fall off.

So the phone has only rang once today and that was it. And when does it choose to ring not once more but 3 more times? When I'm listening to the new Richie single on BBC Radio 1! Can I not just enjoy Richie in peace?

Milla's Tea



I always try to make tea and it never tastes as good as when Milla makes it. When other ppl make tea for me it's even worse. You think I would have learned by now to say, No Thanks to tea unless Milla is making it. She must put a secret ingredient in it, like cocaine or something.

damn you ticketmaster!



I got up early on this saturday morning to get coldplay tickets (mostly to see richie) on ticketmaster. I'm up at the fortress so I have NW's pc and my mac both going. At 10am when the ticket sales started, both computers totally shutdown (as I expected) and nothing worked. I managed to get to the page where they want you to type in words to verifye that you're not a computer but there server was so clogged that the word didn't show up. After only two attempts (that's all the computer would do) I saw that they announced another show the next day. I managed to get through on NW's computer and got good seats! Then I entered in my information and it said that they couldn't process my request and to try again. I had cyber tickets snatched out of my hands!

I tried serveral more times but by then the tickets were gone. So no richie for me. :(

vivid prints and vivid morons



I went to go get some digital photos printed up at black's yesterday. I was using their website and it kept on crashing, now that's a feat for a mac...so I wasted a cd and burned 12 pictures on to the disc and brought it in. First the guy at the desk tells me that it's not his job, i'd have to go find someone else. Why not just say find someone else? I don't care what your job is. When I come back an hour later for my photos, the bill that was supposed to be $6 was $20. And they couldnt'n explain to me why. Anonther guy comes a long and says that it's that much cos there were 36 pictures. I said that I only put 12 pictures on this disc i dont' see how they could get 36. We open the package up and there are triples of every photo, most of them are really bad quality, too dark, heads cut off, fuzzy. I was really irritated, especially when the guy told me that there were 36 pictures on the disc. He tried to pin it on me cos girls aren't good with computers right? I madeh im go check the disc and there were indeed only 12 photos. So I was able to pick out the best ones out of the 3 sets and just pay for those. Still way too much hasseel to get 12 sub par photos developed.

is it true?



There have been rumours of a new richie album since my last birthday, as the next one approaches there is more news.

Fiona Apple will open the first half of the tour and ex-Verve frontman Richard Ashcroft will accompany Coldplay on latter half.

Ashcroft opened for the band in Europe this past summer and joined them at Live 8 London where they performed "Bittersweet Symphony" together. He recently finished recording his third solo album, Keys To The World, which will be released January 23 in the U.K. A North American release date has not yet been disclosed. Keys To The World is the follow-up to Human Conditions, released in 2002.

brain dead



I want to blog today but I have nothign to say. I'm totally brain dead. Work does that to me. Sometimes I enjoy it cos it's nice to just zone out and go onto autopilot. But it's not good when that translates into afterwork brainlessness.

In other news, they just said the N word on the CBC. It was a subtitle on some strange arty french thing (but then later they stearted speaking english). But is that allowed? Is it allowed after 11?

I was closing at work today when one guy comes knocking on the door and i keep telling him that i'm closed but he in insistant, so i let him in and he dawdles for the longest time tryign to talk to me. Finally he gives me his business card and his last name was Prince. I don't get hit on often but when I do it's always by a guy named Prince.

wishlist



I know Christmas seems like a long way away but it's not. So get shopping! Here is my list if Santa deems me good enough:
(in no particular order)

1. A Furby--at first we thought that the Furbies int he commercial were speaking German, but then I learned that they were learning to speak english. So even though they're not German speaking, I'd still like a Furby.

2. The Simpsons DVD sets come out so slowly, the Season 5 set is finally out and it's on my wishlist. Once I have this its only 10 more seasons to go!

3. Everyone under the sun knows that I love Lost. It's the best show (except lately it's been moving way too slowly, it worked last season cos it was new, but now the soap opera-like dragging is just not amusing anymore) I found this tote bag on the website.

4. I need more incense, I'm down to my last bottle. I was in the Body Shop the other day and saw lots of nice new scents.

5. Clean Provence perfume...i think this was on my list last year. I lub the smell, it's like milled french soap. Oh la la.

6. A subscription to the Sunday NY Times, reading it on-line is just not the same as having the paper in your hands.

7. What Christmas is complete without jewellery? I found this vintage owl necklace on-line a few months ago and I haven't been able to stop thinking about it.

8. I've been waiting for Orson Scott Card's Latest book, Shadow of the Giant to come out in paperback for the longest time...before Junky left us for Oz! They've gotta get on that so I can read this book. I'm dying to know what happens next!

9. I don't remember how I found this, but who wouldn't want their own personal chocolate fountain? They're no longer just for those special events. You can have chocolate covered anything, anytime you like! I can't decide if I would like marshmellows or strawberries better. Maybe an amalgam of both.
