hot dogs!

I know this post will gross Junky out. I ordered Grocery Gateway yesterday and swear that I double checked everything. Today the groceries come and I have 3 packs of hotdogs! 36 hot dogs! I check on my order that they sent me in the mail and it does say 3 packs of hot dogs. how did i miss that?

So I call customer service (becos the starwberries they sent were on the verge of moldiness) and ask about the 3 packs of hotdogs, they say the would take them back but they would just throw them out. I figure NW and I will eventually eat them so I don't make a big stink about it. I like the idea that if they send out frozen goods and they are sent back, they aren't sent out again. So I figured I could live with that policy and didn't want the dogs to go to waste. If NW and I eat 2 each everday it'll only take us 9 days to eat all 3 packs. Mmmmm ears and tails...

So many parts of this equation are not adding up. Me not pleased.

the shelves!

So I was sound asleep last night when a huge banging woke me up. I sat up screaming "the sheleves!" I knew it was the new shelves (with cheap looking brackets) that we had just put up from Ikea. I even remembering NW cursing them earlier in the evening saying he was worrying if one of them would hold or not. I imagined the worst; a big giant hole in the wall, all my belongings that I had put of the shelf crushed in to a billion pieces. I was too scared to go see so I sent NW out to inspect the damage.

"The two top shelves fell," he called from the living room. Images of the things I had on those shelves flashed thru my mind. I ran out there and saw the damage. Not bad considering the shelves are both 6 feet long and heavy. The bottom shelf was still in place. The top to resting on top of it, and all our junk was scattered on the floor in front of it. The holes in the wall weren't bad. The brackets just didn't hold.

First i retrieved Shiva. She was ok. Then I saw Mr. Indian man...he also escaped the accident (great considering he's got 40 year old whisky in him!). But happy Buddha didn't survive. The whole back of his head was chipped off. Pictures survived, some candle holders didn't make it. Berger survived, but my African head from my friend Allan didn't.

After surveying the damage I got all scared and wondered if it was an omen I was all freaked out. I have a great imagination and it made me scared just for a few minutes until I passed out again. I was so tired!

richie/coldplay

So the internet technitian shows up late i let him in but i practically have to drag the guy out of my house. He just won't leave and we've got to leave. I finally freaked out and said get out now. We have to go. We had tickets that faced the stage about 5 rows from the floor.

Richie was totally what I expected, he was soooooo cool....all sunglassed and barefoot. He only played 8 songs but it was great. He sounded so amazing at some points I just had to close my eyes and listen. He played a few songs from the new album, Keys to the World, Music is Power, and Simple Song. Then he threw in the old faithfuls, Drugs don't Work, Lucky Man, and Bittersweet. Then he threw in Science of Silence from his last CD. I know I'm missing one more. It was so exciting to be breathing the same oxygen as him.

After Richie we went out for a smoke and then I went to check out the merch...two lame Richie shirts that were baseball style and a bunch of coldplay stuff that I didn't think were that good either so I ended up saving money. A girls baby t was going for $40. Instead spent my $ on beer and food.

Coldplay I like a lot but wasn't as excited for. Chris came out before the set and said that they would be filming a DVD and everyone freaked out. Ppl lub Coldplay and I do now too, they totally blew me away. The show was so great. Even tho Chris Martin looks like a gremlin with an Annie wig on he's still sooooo amazing. At one point he praised Richie, saying that it was like The Beatles opening for Michael Bolton. True dat! True dat.

Most exciting was near the end when Chris was 1ft 1/2 away from me. He ran down into the crowed, past us, and got up on this scaffold to get closer to the ppl with bad tickets.

big brother

I'm sitting here watching poor NW carry out my huge computer desk with the guy who just bought it. Now he's been outside in the cold for a long time with no jacket! I would be helping but I've got my hair in curlers. I'm not fit to greet the public. I've got simpsons in the small pip screen. I'm uber stimulated. It's distracting me from getting over excited about Richie tonight. Poor NW he's still out there!

curry chips are here!

I went downstairs to get some ice cream and I was distracted by a big bag of Lay's curry chips. Curry chips? here? in Canada? yay!!!!!!

I first discovered curry chips in England when I found curry pringles. These are even better!

richie

I'm listening to Richie's interviews from his site. You have choices. Real High or Windows High. I'll take Real High please!

But sadly I think they just mean which media player and what sort of connection i want.

i love my pvr

I'm watching the Three's Company that I taped last night, and next up will be Gilligan's Island. Both of these I will now be taping every night. Hooray for pvr. Hooray for no more commercials.

Also we discovered last night that you can pause live TV. Then the system starts to record it. I figured out if you pause the TV for 7 mins beofre a 30 min show comes on i can ffw'd thru all the commercials.

Also while I'm talking about lovin', I also love craigslist. Almost everything I put up last night is virtually sold.

someone else...

The thing that I'm trying to get used to is that there is someone else in my space. I was uber grumpy yesterday when I came home from work because I knew that there was someone in my space. It was driving me so crazy I called Milla from work to ask her to send her little sis (stanky aishma) over to see what was going on. But it's been alright now.

I've learned a couple of things from co-habitation already.
#1 boys are smelly. I've been doing the same amount of work and i don't stink like a certain unnamed roomate stinks. (but I still like him)
#2 there is someone else to get something for you...ie. if you sit down and you don't have the remote. (no more wishing that I have the force)
#3 if you leave something somewhere, it won't necessarily be there when you go back. there is somoene else there touching your stuff (this relates to the grumpiness I was feeling yesterday)

oh...and the cable is here!! NW has Sopranos at 9 so I set the PVR to record Family Guy.

the best a girl can get

I'm up at the Fortress doing the final packing. I'm listening to Queen's Another one Bites the Dust.

Unfortunately I packed away the facial moisturizer and the only thing left i could put on my face was NW's aftershave lotion. Now I smell like a man. Hopefully NW will recognize that it's his!

no more painting

painting: the full body workout

So NW and I are merging households. We're saying goodbye to the fortress and we're moving all his stuff in here. Getting a storage room/locker is key to this move.

In prep we started painting this weekend and it's so much work! Thank goodness the girls came over to help or else NW and I would have died. Now two and a half gallons later 60% of the place is painted. Tmrw I take on the wall with the window. Who needs the gym when you're painting.

I hear voices. The wrong voices.

I'm watching Arthur right now and I've noticed in the past few episodes that Arthur's voice is totally different. It's like a little girl's voice. Or I guess a little boy's voice. I'm not sure if these are older or newer episodes but the voice is different and it's bugging me.

This is like my Price is Right issue. I can't watch that show anymore cos the dude's voice is wrong. It just feels strange.

being shit on

Lately, i've been getting pissed off with work. There are a lot of changes going on and lots of ppl aren't happy. So this trickles down to us lowly ones who of course get stuck with the shit end of the stick. Due to certain circumstances I'll be working almost double the hours this month, I'm happy for the money but not happy with the hours. I'm stuck in the shitty shifts, plus I'm schedueled for days that I can't work. They assume that since I have my 'class' at night that I can work the day shift. No. I said no Wednesdays period.

So I get into work this morning and for some reason my manager is already there and we get into this discussion. She says she doesn't like my attitude, she said I shoudl be grateful for the hours that I've been given. She doesn't like that I act like i'm the victim. Lady, it ain't no act. I am a victim and even more so after this morning's discussion when she gave me an ultimatum, stay or go. I purposly don't voice my opinions at work because of this, I dont' want to rock the boat. If it's not so bad, or if it's something I can take care of myself. I just do it/suck it up. Cos if you say anything ppl will freak out and give you this sour looking face all day.

I'm the one who should be making fucking faces cos I'm being shit on for no reason. So I'm not prostrating in thanks for the extra hours. That's no reason to ask me to leave.

and the oscar goes to...

Milla! She predicted the most winners tonight at Ruby's friend's party. She also won a winner's trophy which her winnings fit into perfectly. Ruby and I tied for second, along with most of the others. I loved Charlize's dress, Reeese's speech, and Joaquin. We watched Walk the Line earlier in the day, it was sooooo great.

Golden Girls is great. In today's episode Dorothy and Blanche are on a game show and the question was to complete this saying: Better late than ----

Blanche's answer: pregnant

The correct answer: never (which Rose got right!)

broken telephone

My phone is busted and it's bugging me so much that I can't sleep. It's not so much my phone but Bell that is busted. I noticed there have been no calls to my house since the 28th. When I called on the 29th to check my messages from the fortress the phone just kept on ringing and ringing. I was sure I had turned my answering machinei on but it didn't pick up. I was mostly relieved that there was no one bugging me. Yesterday, I returned home from a few days at the fortress to find that my phone had no dialtone. When you call my house it'll ring. But my phone won't ring.

Now I'm so convinced that I've been missing important phone calls or that now i'm totally unreachable. There is no reason for my service not to be working. I'm so pissed with Bell. Last month my internet was busted for no reason. It was just Bell and their bad business practices. When I cancelled my free digital cable they didn't tell me to go back to my old modem, I thought that was how I would access the internet now since they didn't ask me to return the box. Well it turns out that you have to return your old modem. Which I was not told. And that when you cancelled your digi cable, that you were supposed to go back to your old modem. Which I was not told. They just went ahead and purged the system and got rid of my accout, no notification, no nothing.

Then when I called Bell they blamed me. Somethin wrong with my connection, something wrong with the way that I had things set up. They insisted that I hook up my internet on an alternate jack in my house. I only have 1 jack. The other one is busted. It was when I moved in and Bell insists on a $75 charge to fix it. It was broken when I moved in. Why would I pay to fix somethign that was broken? So I coudln't do that. They refused to send a technitian cos they wanted to see what the probelm was with the system. Finally 2 weeks later someone finally comes to my building. The problem? They hadn't switched my line in the box upstairs back to regular instead of digital.

I"m so pissed that i'm up at friggin 5am
