sympathy card
I went to get NW a sympathy card for his friend who's grandmother and father both passed from cancer this week. I went down to chapters cos they tend to have nicer cards. But their sympathy card section sucked. I guess that section always sucks becos of the nature of them. Mostly flowers, a few religious ones...all the messages were insincere but what can you really say? So I went over to the blank card section and picked out one that was low key, yet serene. What am I supposed to write in it now? At least in the flowery ones they said it for you. I think I"ll have to google this one.a*c at 5:31 p.m.

in training
NW was off today so we both woke up later than usual. I got up and said, wow it's 11am and no one has called either of us! On cue the phone rings, It's C in London (ontario) i was so happy to talk to her. We chatted for a while, which was a great way to start off the day...but then...down to business. We are in blackjack training for vegas. I already consider myself quite the black jack player. I'm pretty good, know the terminology, and am pretty confident at the tables. Sometimes it's pretty intimidating cos ppl at the table will talk to you or comment on what you just did. It's annoying, but you have to be sure of what you're doing. Yes what other players do can effect your hand, but essentially you're playing against the dealer. The best way to ignore these ppl is to be confident in what you are doing. Also don't be afraid to take your time, what you think is 10 minutes is usually a few seconds to everyone else. so take your time. It's your money on the line anyways. So do whatever you want.
So to back up my confidence and to make sure that I haven't gained any bad habits I've been playing a lot and reading lots of tutorials. I'm glad that I'm usually doing everything right. One thing I've learned is other times to double down...it's not just for situations where you've got an 11 or a 10. Double down is where you're gonna make most of your money.
We spent 2 hours in training this morning. I've also been tryign to brush up on my texas hold 'em poker but that is goign poorly. Its strange. I understsand what is going on, but at the same time I don't.

yay
I picked up Shadow of the Giant last week and read it all in 1 day. I was sad because they said that this would be the last book in the Ender series. But apparently this is not so. When I googled Orson Scott Card to find his website I decided to read the wikipedia entry on him first....and there it was. The next book...Shadows in Flight. I knew it couldn't be over because we've been waiting for this one charachter to bite the dust for a while now and at the end of this book he was still alive. I couldn't find out more information on the book though so I think it's a while away. This guy is like a writing machine!a*c at 1:49 p.m.

shopping list
NW and I are goign to Vegas in early May for his cousin's wedding. I can't wait to shop so I decided to make a list of things I want (but probably can't afford).
-New Marc Jacob's designed LV purse...I love the twists on their old designs. Right now I love the Trucadero but can't find a picture of it that's not Flash. The Speedy is my 2nd fave. So perty! -Once again there is me and my obsession with the straight leg jean. It's no longer a want, it has become a necessity. Especially since my fave jeans ppl Rock and Republic finally have one out.
-I'm totally in love with this Stella McCartney for Adidas tennis dress and the Hamsa shoes (in black). The dress would be great with a pair of cropped black tights and flats (even tho giant giant platforms are in this season)-A case for my pebl...I'm partial to this Miss Piggy inspired one and the plain clear. I always get so paranoid when I put it in my purse cos it scuffs up so easiy.
-I found this summery Printed Estee dress at girlshop in the Secrets of Charm boutique. It would look great with a thick belt.-I got a usb storage thingee for christmas and I wondered at the time wtf I'm gonna do with it but I've used it a lot. Now it's time for a cuter one with bigger memory. Mimoco has a totally adorable love ninja flash drive.
-I love Bluetooth! This bluetooth keyboard projects on any flat surface and you can use it with yoru bluetooth enabled gadgets and it looks soooo cool. -To help control summer sheen I like the new Neutrogena Mineral sheer power foundation. I like that the brush is right on the end so it can't be lost.
-Crocs Athens II thong...slip-resistent, bacteria resistent, comfy looking= sold!-And one last thing for the man--a timepiece. I like this Diesel watch. Oh and these Paul Smith cufflinks

mofos=td bank!
I can't even express in words how much I hate my bank. They are insanely unfair. How do they get away with the things that they do? It frustrates me so much cos these fuckers are in control of my money and there is nothing I can do. I don't understand why more people aren't unhappy with TD. They're assholes. The guy with the pony tail who speaks so loud that everyone in the bank can hear your business: asshole.
The single bank manager lady who works out too much and is out in the sun too much: asshole
The old lady who doesn't care about her job anymore and is just there to hate on ppl: asshole
The new girl who doesn't care about her job and is also there to hate on ppl: asshole
My bank lady who I thought was pregnant but apparently has been pregnant for 3 years now: asshole
My former teller who now has her own office and won't help people: sellout.
It's not just these people at my branch that I don't like. It's their overall business practice, they do everything they can to get their hands all over your money. Your hard earned money. And once they have it, they won't let go. If they don't suck away all your money with bank fees they'll find some other way. Please someone tell me about how much they hate TD!! I know i'm not crazy!
I was looking on line at info:
PC has no bank fees
CIBC has an account that only charges $3.90 in bank fees
Royal Bank charges $4
BMO is also $4
HSBC is $4 as well
How does TD expalin $8.95? They certainly aren't offering stellar service. Plus they're also stealing my money, they take more than $8.95 from me at the end of the month and I don't know why.

another lifetime
I was continuing the quest for an orderly household when I found old autograph books. I had always wondered why my 1998 (the year I graduated) yearbook only had a few entries. Now I know. Apparently I passed around an autograph book, it was full of messages. Some ppl I remember, some I don't. Some I was really great friends with, most of them I'm not friends with any longer. It was so strange reading through them, it was a world away. I know if someone had told me that in 8 years you won't be friends with these ppl anymore I would have never believed them. Now life is so different! We are all so different.I got so nostalgic thinking about my old high school and all those people whom I haven't thought about in forever. How some are married, some have kids, and other notable events. It's crazy. In the end it was mostly mindless dribble about how we would be friends forever and how when we were 25 we would look back at this and really feel old. Um...yeah! At 26 apparently I'm already far beyond old.
Everyone was so young and so full of hope (and alchohol). I can't help but wonder what I wrote in other ppls autograph books. I hope that I wasn't like the stupid bitch in my book that decided to go back and recount every single embarassing incident I had in high school and record it on paper (why she remembered my 4 years in high school in such detail I'll never know). If I did such a thing I apologize and swear that I don't remember anything (except that incident in the car with the spider and the tree). It was probably more of a generic message, like have a good summer, here is my icq #! Remember icq? uh oh!

easter dinner
NW's friends invited us over to their place for a home cooked Easter dinner. It was soooooo yummy! After dinner while the girls cleaned up I sat on the sofa with the boys playing Gran Turismo. Should I have been in the kitchen helping clean? Probably. Did I go? No! I'm such a bad guest!

numbers...taxes...
I love how when I got my T4 I said i was going to put it somewhere safe. Somewhere that I could find it easily when I finally got around to doing my taxes. I got my software today and gathered to two envelope that I had marked 2005 taxes. I thought to myself, gee...I must be really organized this year. I'm doing my taxes the earliest I've ever done them and I've got not 1 but 2 envelopes with my tax stuff.
Feeling all proud and grown up I sat down to start doing my taxes. When I got to the part where I had to enter my T4 info I reached into one envelope. Nothing. The other...also nothing. So what did I think was a safe place back in February???

Finally!
So finally things are getting a little easier. Last month was a mercury retrograde (astrology), which I know means nothing to most of you, but it totally f's things up and makes everything harder than it should be. I called to cancel my home line today and it was easy. It's done. As of tmrw you can only reach me on my stupid 647 number.
Then I had the dude, who thankfully didn't try to convince me to stay, to transfer me to sympatico to make sure that everythign was going to be cancelled. Plus I wanted to complaina bout the technitian who came by and 'broke' my internet. I told them, it hasn't been working since the guy came. Gimme my money back. And they did! The dude was supposed to come btwn noon and 6 the night of the Richie concert and he didn't show up until 6:30, making me late for the concert. I had to kick him out. I was so close to going over and taking his stuff and throwing it out my door. But anyhow...everything is done. Bell isn't goign to gouge me for $40 more dollars and I'm finished with those bastardos.
Is Rogers the lesser evil? Right now they are because they bring me wonderful wonderful tv with my wonderful wonderful pvr.

air farce
So NW and I went to see a taping of Air Farce in the CBC building on Thursday. I had read somewhere that it was free so I went to the website and got two tickets for us. The price was right and it was something to do. The taping started at 9 and it was first come first serve, so we figured that we'd go early grab our tickets and then walk back up John to the Duke of Argyle for a snack befoer the show.
Was there time to go eat? no. We went form one line to another line to another line. Finally we got into the studio and we just sat and waited and waited and waited. There was no one who came out to rile up the audience or anything intresting to do. We just sat there and go so sleepy and bored, we were thinking about leaving before the show started.
Finally an hour later these two musicians come out and perform a bit and the show starts. It was fun to see how the show is done and they re-set scenes so fast and did everything in one take. But it was really too late to redeem the boring time that we just spent.
When the show was over we bolted out of there and were one of the first elevator load of ppl down. We both vowed never to return. On the bright side, we decided it was good that we didn't enjoy the same things. And then our food at the Duke came so fast! We ordered, ate, drank and used the facilities under 25 mins!
I'm not not recommending Air Farce, it was still pretty fun. Just show up at 9, there are no bad seats, and then you don't have to suffer in line and suffer the boredom of non pre-show entertainment.
