did i blow the candle out?

You know how you when something is so routine that soemtimes you forget if you did it or not? Today I was leaving Milla's and I thought Eeek! Did I blow out the candle before I left? Milla walked me downstairs and I speed walked home to see if my building was still standing. It was! When I got upstairs the candle was out. Thank goodness!

get out!

There are two convience stores downstairs. One I love and one I hate. I went down to get some cigs and surprisingly the little one,which is the one i like is closed. So I begrudginly go to the other one and the transaction is declined. I've never used this card for an interac purchase so I figured I pressed a button wrong. First the old Korean dude kept on yelling Decline! Decline! so that the 10 ppl behind me could all know what my business was. Then I asked him, could you try again? And he says, "Try again? With same card? It decline! Get out."

Ok first of all dude. who charges .25 cents for an interact transaction? The little store doesn't even though they're littler. The also give cashback. And second, I went in there against my will, now you all see why everytime i go it's against my will cos they are assholes. Last time I was there buying treats the porky son tells me that the snacks look like intestines. And third, they charge more for their cigarettes. Bastardos!

I'm a huge geek!

Nothing is on TV so I forced NW to watched Voyager with me. I had a huge laugh when the alien said, "It's pon farr night at the vulcan night club." My first thought was, that sounds like a good night! Then my second thought, I'm a huge geek! Only geeks would have found that funny!

sleepless in toronto

I haven't been sleeping well lately. I'll wake up a few hours after going to bed to go pee or have a sip of water. I'll toss and turn a bit. Sometimes my tummy hurts, like I have gas. Sometimes it is gas. Usually I'll turn around in the bed and face the other way, with my head by NW's feet and mine by his head. If that doesn't work I'll get up and have a smoke and try laying down on the sofa. Last night I fell asleep on the sofa and woke up to NW getting ready for work. And that was all I remembered. Funny how I can't sleep at night, but I can sleep through NW's entire morning ritual. Sometimes i crawl back into bed, but today I just kept on sleeping away on the sofa.

NW says that it's cos i've been eating too late these past few nights. I suppose that I am getting older and i can't stay up all hours and eat all sorts of things anymore. I'll try eating less before bed, but I don't think that's the problem. I think it's cos I've had the AC on max during this freaking heatwave. The AC blows on me in bed and I cover myself up with my covers. Thus negating the AC. There is no winning in the heat.

why do i keep watching this show?

Summer tv sucks ass. It's only allowed me to attempt to get caught up on House. I've been watching Treasure Hunters and I don't know why I keep watching the show. Just about everyone is annoying, there is no one who is likable, and they're all stupid. There is the stupid Fogel girl who I wish someone would just shoot to shut her up. I don't know how her parents refrain from beating her. The Brown family was so slow. They were eliminated tonight, thank god, we dont' have to see them ooze around and wonder why they're in last place. Then there are the Geniuses--who should be called the big oogly nerds. I don't want any of them to win. I think I keep watching just to see them do more stupid things. Treasure Hunters is no Amazing Race!

Chole Clone and other stories...

There is a server at the Queen Mother (great patio but too bad it has an awning...no smoking) seemed familiar to me for some reason. I checked her out from behind my sunglasses but couldn't figure out how I knew her. I knew the guy who had just sat down a few tables over. We went to high school together. But I was way more interested in who this chick was. Finally after she came back with our drinks she said something in a tone that sounded exactly like Chole Sevigny's charachter in Big Love. I looked at her thinking, I know who you are! A brunette Chole! It was creepy, same voice, same inflection...but sadly not the same fashion sense. Does this mean I watch too much TV?

NW is off today and is dragging me around the city. Usually I haven't been leaving the home until apres 8 pm but today I was up on the patio bright and early at 11am! Maybe closer to noon. I'm not sure. I watched some birds fly around and the clouds change shapes in the sky in between dragging my bench into the shade. A little later we were out again. We forgot to bring money with us so we had to go back and go out again (now that's 3 times by 1pm). Went to lunch and then picked up some fruits and buns from Chinatown. Now we have to go out again for groceries but i don't want to go. It's hot and gross out there! I'm going to try to delay that until sundown. At least!

Also I told NW that he has to lock me in the bedroom with my computer until I'm done my resume. Sometime today. As most of you know, I have issues with discipline. Hopefully this will help. The bdrm has minimal distraction, no books or magazines, limited channels on the tv and a half busted cd player. I'll have to remeber to bring food with me. I'll update you all on Operation Lockdown later if he some how coerces me into the bdrm.

The Junky has gone on a pilgramage to Graceland, all good Elvis fan should embark on such a trek in their lifetime. I forgot to ask her to bring me something! I hope she has a good trip.

I was looking at a link that my friend Von Ooter had sent me of David Hasselhoff's new video and as I was skipping through it in bewilderment (trying to figure out if it was new or old...and if it were new; why he would do such a thing??). Then something that only happens once in a blue moon: safari crashed on me. David Hasselhoff busted my computer!

grillin in the park



Yesterday the Junky picked me up and we headed out to Trinity Bellwoods for a BBQ. She had bought this cute little grill from Walmart. Best buy ever! We roasted up some meat (we...meaning Junky) and lazed in the sun. It was sooooo fun! Our kebobs were delicious!!!

In the evening NW took me to Skydome for the under 20 soccer match btwn canada and the US. Canada sucks, the score was 2-1 and the 1 goal we got...team USA scored for us. Ha but it was still fun. I got pretty bored during the second half and started snapping pictures of NW's nostril.

shopping list

Remember when this time of year meant summer vacation? It still is for some, Boston is off to the motherland (poland) and Peter is on a tour of the Greek Islands with his friend Peter, my folks to vegas. As a tribute to my mom's shopping this week I've made a list of my own.

-Thanko's silent keyboard. Now no one will know that you're surfing the net while you're talking to them on the phone.

-Hardshell luggage is the way to go. I like this pink Heys set--although the biggest size that is 30" doesn't seem big enough to me.

-Although I've had back luck with shelving, I'm totally in love with this Tetris shelving units. It's an homage to my obsession.

-Me and the girls have been knitting since the end of the television season. It gives us something to do instead of looking for something to watch on TV. I read in the NY Times a few weeks ago about these needles with a light on the end. Now you can knit while watching a movie without the lights turned up, or on the plane...camping...the possibilities are endless.


-I don't remeber where I found Brandon Bird's site (probably Daily Candy), but I love his print, Husky Ne'er-do-well.

-Everyone knows I love flats. I used to have such a problem finding shoes that were nice and didn't have a gigantic heel. Now there is such a huge selection. I loving these Dior Rebel flats.


-Not many bags have caught my eye lately, but Marc Jacob's quilted stam hobo bag is an exception. I like both colours but the black is more versatile.

-I'm a sucker for packaging. The cooler the better. If it has multiple uses; even better! Stella McCartney's perfume roll-on is perfect for just tossing into your bag and heading out. You can touch up wherever you go.

-I think the Body Shop is on a mega comeback. After everyone's initial obession with the little pots of fruity lip blam in grade school, they've kind of dropped off the radar. Now their mix your own oil is back which is great. At xmas I grabbed a cute little pack of perfume that I'm still using. My fave scents from the set are the purple one...Altaro which is supposed to be 'oriental' i like it for it's hint of muskiness. And the light green one...Mintevia. It's crips and fresh smelling. Usually I mix those two but I like any combo of the scents. Last weekend Ruby and I checked out the body shop and I found even more products! I found even more variety of the dry oil sprays, and mists.
