wtf?

never have i seen so many people on the side of highways as I have since I've moved to NS. like wtf? highways are obviously for cars, there are no sidewalks, you're not suppoed to be there. I've seen kids on bikes and sans bikes, hitchhickers, families. Comon kids lets go for a walk in the margin btwn two lanes of 120km an hour traffic!

One we live off of a small highway, it's more of a name than a classification, but still, no sidewalks, but lots of people walking it...in all black outfits in the dark. That would be ok if there were some sort of 3M innovation on it. But no.

and what's with the hitchhikers? do people still even pick up hitchhikers? although I did want NW to pull over and pick up the hikers with the sign reading: we've got chocolate.

a zig a zig ahhh...

I'm not afraid to admit that I own Spice World on dvd. I got it for $8! I skipped class in high school to see it in theatres the day it came out. First Junky tells me that The Verve has reformed and then the Spice Girls officially announce their reunion. The 90's return!

Posh looks hot as usual, Mel C looks sexy as a femme dyke instead of a butch one, Geri still hasn't got the union jack dress back yet, but she substituted it for one just as oogly! Baby has got a beebee in the oven but the black dress hides it, and Scary is looking just as scary! My itunes has been predicting the reunion for the past few weeks, when I leave it on shuffle the Spice Girls keep coming on!

style: june

This fancy Proust Questionnaire book would be great for parties and get-togethers. Pass it around and have guests fill it out, encourage convo while looking over previous entries. Here are two questionnaires with Proust's own answers. Apparently he didn't invent the questionnaire but made it famous.

I love all of these Carrie Weston rings, especially the flat ones that can be stacked together. I like rose gold, it's a warm tone with a hint of pink to it, the diamond silhouette ring, the flat heart ring, and the tulip silhouette rings are the cutest.

Whenever I make cupcakes I wonder, where will I store these? A small tupperware can only house a few. Bigger ones hold a few more but with the icing, they can't be stacked. Apparently I'm not the only one with this problem because the cupcake courier was invented to solve this pressing issue. It comes in 4 colours, saffron yellow is my fave.

I think the packaging of Einstein Lip Therapy is tres cute. It has little beads of vitamin c, like the gum Cinnaburst with it's flavor crystals. It also interests me because it's a cream based product, it a different kind of moisturizer from the regular greasy type.

I'm in search of un-gooey sun protection. I used my friend Peter's Greek sun milk with SPF 8 (he said it was the highest he could find), and it was nice but SPF 8 isn't enough protection. Sephora provided a few alternatives: Peter Thomas Roth's Instant Mineral SPF 30, MD Skincare's Sunscreen Pads, Bliss' Big Screen Spray, and Fresh's Sun Shield.

This Dune Swept Dress is flowy and pretty, you could wear it with white tights to make it a bit more casual, it's silk so it's nice and cool. I also like the Lagoa dress, the texture and the cut is unique. Both are from Tracy Reese from Anthropologie.

Urban Outfitters has a few cute dresses as well, the Lux Embroidered Mexicana Dress has a mod feel to it despite the folksy embroidery. The Lux Santorini Dress is a nice bubble shape, comfy and forgiving. This Boxfresh Bird Halter Mini Dress looks straight out of Jem. Truly Outrageous.

Superman Returns

And he's hotter than ever! HELLO! Pictures don't do Brandon Routh justice, and neither do interviews cos he's boooooorrrring. Some said that he didn't have the charisma to play Supes. Since when was Supes charismatic? He's a big dork/boyscout and that's why we lub him. I had put off watching the movie cos of the so/so reviews but I'm glad I finally got around to it. It was a lot of fun. Bryan Singer is great, I have to say X3 totally sucked without him, but I'm glad he took on Superman because we have the same taste in men, he made Supes so drool-worthy, and if he wasn't enough Cyclops is in this as well, he plays LL's finace (I called him Biclops).

Anyhow, enough with the hot man report, one thing that has been bugging me is that *spoiler!* LL's kid is Superman's...not her fiance's. How is this possible? Superman cannot have sex with anyone on earth (except perhaps Wonder Woman and his cuz Supergirl) cos he would rip them apart with his superpowers. If he didn't his supersperm would do the ripping. It's not that I'm against Superman having sex, he should, we don't want a sexually repressed Supes running around.

But after sleeping on this questions, I remembered that Superman Returns is supposed to follow Superman 2. In Superman 2 he was briefly powerless...human...so if LL was impregnated then...then it explains how she was able to do Superman and survive.

Back to the film, Routh reminded me so much of Christopher Reeve when he's Clark. Kate Bosworth is a lame LL, I'm used to spunky Margo Kidder. Hearing the Superman theme was really exciting. Kevin Spacey was an awesome Lex. It was sad that Kal Penn said next to nothing the entire film.

EDIT: I almost forgot, Superman, what up with the red platform boots? And Parker Posey's henchwoman(?) was great. I love how after Superman saves her she's 'having' heart palpitations and jumped into his arms, asking to be taken to the hospital, excellent op to get your hands all over that. That is all.
